Chez Vrony (2000)

Chez Vrony

The Origins of Chez Vrony

Nestled at an altitude of 1900m, in Findeln above Zermatt, the Julen family house still receives skiers and hikers year round. This is the chalet where Heinz grew up with his family. His sister, Vrony, now proposes a fine and varied menu in a typical Swiss house, filled with Heinz Julen spirit.

The furniture and paintings here find a natural space where they can express all the richness and the poetry of Heinz Julen’s artwork.

The Restaurant

Heartfelt warmth, hospitality, stunning views of the Matterhorn and simply some time, just for yourself – that’s Chez Vrony. With a vibrant history, this restaurant at 2100 metres altitude has embodied a family tradition for over 100 years. Allow us to pamper you and enjoy the lovingly prepared dishes and carefully selected wines. From a traditional recipe, to a delicious classic and speciality dishes prepared with a touch of international flair. We cater to everyone’s taste – be it for breakfast, lunch or an aperitif.

Cuisine

Chez Vrony is one of the few restaurants that still uses its own organic products, made from animals nourished solely on Alpine grass. The dry-cured meat, the homemade sausage and Alpine cheese are all made to traditional recipes that – like the restaurant – have been passed down from generation to generation. We offer a rustic and entirely natural cuisine that comprises traditional dishes typically found locally, enriched with international influences. Only the finest market-fresh produce is used.

The culinary menu is complemented by fine wines.
