His first independent work, Die Alp

1963
is awarded the Eidgenössische Stipendium für angewandte Kunst (Federal Grant fot Applied Arts).

1968
begins collaboration with Berne architects Atelier 5 whose work he photographs over several years.

1969
Together with Harald Szeemann develops the poster for the legendary exhibition „When Attitudes Become Form“ at the Kunsthalle Bern. Furtrher exhibition posters result, for Panamareko, Markus Raetz and the Kunstalle Bern amoung others. Co-productions with Markus Raetz.

Films
Together with filmmaker Georg Radanowicz „Dreizehn Berner Museen“.
The film „Schweizer Künstler in 21 Minuten“ is produced on the occasion of the exhibition „22 Schweizer Künstler“ („22 CH `69) at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. The film consists of 21 one-minute self-portraits of artists invited to show at the exhibition. Idea: Balthasar Burkhard, Herbert Distel. Realization: Peter von Gunten.

1970
