Exhibition Martin Schnidrig, Collage

The collages can be regarded as a “tribute” to the artists who have accompanied Martin Schnidrig for a long time. His first formative museum exhibitions were in the early eighties: Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso and Max Ernst at the Kunstmuseum Bern, where he now works as a museum and collection technician. Thus, today he has the opportunity to deal with these impressions and to reinterpret them. On the other hand, everyday materials such as used baking paper flow into his new works. Finally, the mix between memory and today should irritate a little or, in connection with the picture titles, make you smile.
