From 1977 – 1982 I portrayed most of the celebrities in the music industry.
An archive of over 70’000 photographs remained.

To preserve the distinctive photography from that period, I decided to use minimal Photoshop enhancement. Consequently I only worked with dot screen. It was the intention to achieve a redefined view without varying too much from the original color side. Yet, looking closely at the print – no subject is visible – huge dots in cyan, magenta, yellow and black absorbing the subject.
Looking from far away – iconic portraits appear.

The photograph is printed with a consumer inkjet printer using standard quality paper. Each single portrait is divided into 42 prints and is produced in one day. Due to unstable output of ink, humidity and temperature, every final piece of art is a unique copy.
